South Australia bans single-use plastic bags

South Australia will become the first state to ban single-use plastic shopping bags from January next year.
The Government had passed the upper house on 13th November said by the Honourable Environment Minister Jay Weatherill in which he called it as historic.
He is very happy and expressed that South Australia is showing leadership on a key environmental issue.
By the new laws of Government, single use bags will be banned from January 1 next year since a phase-in period will continue until May 4.Between that period shop owners can use the bags but they must give an alternative to the customers.
The ban does not apply to more heavy-duty plastic bags used by department stores and similar retail stores, or to the plastic bags supplied on rolls and used for fruit and vegetables.

INDIA v AUSTRALIA - 3rd TEST DELHI

On the first day of the 3rd test at Delhi,India manages to reach a reasonable score of 296 for a loss of 3 wickets.Gautam Gambhir,who is the inform batsman for India scores his second ton in test cricket,saved his team from the loss of 2 wickets for just 27 to 296 for 4.Earlier,this morning Anil kumble won the toss and decided to bat first.Both the team made a unique change by calling Stuart clark in for Siddle for the Aussies and Harbhajan sat down for his injury while Amit Mishra retains his place from the second test.
At the start of the day opener Shewag felled to Brett Lee's superb delivery by anlbw and Mitchell Johnson took Rahul Dravid by keeping the ball just wide of the off stump and brilliantly caught by Mathew Hayden.
But the Delhi opener gambhir aggressively scored at one end while Tendulkar(68) gave him a good support by scoribg another half century and fell to Mitchel Johnson caught behind by Brad Haddin.The two batsmen added a partnership of 130 runs.These two batsmen frustrated the Aussie bowlers by constantly scoring runs without leaving any chances.
Then comes Laxman(54),who is strugglinh this series shared a good partnership with Gambhir by setting another 139run partnership fo the 4th wicket.
By the end of the day India is on top by scoring 296 for the loss of 3 wickets.Ghambir is still looking Dangerous for the Aussie bowlers scoring 149.Laxman at the other end scored 54 n his part.By taking quick wickets in the morning session of the second day Aussie can think of getting out India below 400 and then start scoring in the second day itseif.
